In 1980, I had the great opportunity to spend the summer in Algonquin Park as a Canoe Ranger. I have worked in the forest, in some capacity, ever since.
After graduating with a degree in Science and Forestry from the University of New Brunswick in 1987, I gained a wealth of forestry experience working for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, forestry consultants, privately owned wilderness reserves, tree nurseries, and municipalities.
In 1997, we started our own woodland management company, offering a complete range of forestry services.
During the past 27 years we have met so many wonderful landowners and worked closely with them developing and implementing programs to meet their woodlot management objectives.
We are truly fortunate to have the best job in the world.
I began my forestry journey during my undergraduate degree in Zoology from the Univeristy of Guelph. From taking courses in wildlife and forest biology to working as a tree-marker and forestry assistant during the summers, I knew forestry would become a lifelong passion.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I obtained my master’s in forestry from the University of Toronto. Since then, I have worked in roles for sustainable forest licence holders, private land companies and also non-for-profit organizations.
In 2020 I received the White Pine award from Forests Ontario for my contributions to forest education delivered to youth across the province. I am fortunate to work in an industry that strives for growth, sustainability, education, and innovation.
